Betting = Trenches!
Do you know that there are millions of possible odds that can emerge from a single match and from those millions, there are only about 5 or 6 of them that lead to winning? That means that on every bet that you stake in sports, there's a 99.99999 percent that you’ll lose the bet. That 0.00001 percent winning chance rarely comes the way of Betters and they know it for sure.
Today we will be discussing about Sports betting and we'll be taking football as a case study. If you are a regular reader, you’d know I love football and I love to enlighten everyone about the beautiful game. As usual, I am never in the act of imposing any decision on anybody. I just present facts and statistics with an appropriate mix of critical thinking so you’ll see something you have probably been missing out on before now and I’ll leave you to make your decision. So grab a seat (and probably a cup of popcorn) and fasten your seatbelts because you're about to go on a beautiful interesting ride.
The history of sports betting can be dated to as far back as the 1900s when Americans started staking their money on horse races before it circulated to other sports like football and baseball in the 1960s. In Nigeria, sports betting began in 2009 when a man named Oloye Akin Alabi introduced Nairabet to Nigeria. That was the first sports and football betting platform in the country and the rest as they say, is history.
The network and complexity of football betting has greatly changed in the country and the world at large since that year 2009. Today, in Nigeria alone, we have nothing less than one hundred football betting platforms that can be easily accessed from any location. Now enough of the stories, let me open your eyes to something.
Now back to the fact earlier stated at the beginning of this post. Winning for most Sport Betters comes once in a blue moon like my secondary school teacher would say and they know this fact for sure. They just won't admit it. You can make your research online if you are in doubts of the ingenuity of the fact. And you might as well ask a Sports Better if you know one.
It’s no wonder that the owner of one betting platform dances whenever he wants to run a TV ad for his company. He must have digested this fact. He must have known that there are 0.00001 chances of winning for anybody. Or why else would he be so joyous? You can share your thoughts in the comments section.
Betting is a very dangerous unnoticed health haphazard. It is capable of damaging the mental and physical wellbeing of humans especially if they spend time on it and place a very high amount on their stakes. If you probably know one person in your vicinity or Rolodex who bets all the time you need to check on them always. It is affecting them and they will never admit it (of course); not until they their ruins come knocking. It could cause depression, high blood pressure, heart attacks, gradual insanity amongst many others.
I have much more to say about this topic but I'd wait until tomorrow before I do that. I don't want you to be tired of reading because the post might get too long if I do continue. Your thoughts are highly welcome in the comments section. Do not forget to share please, we’ll continue the ride tomorrow.
I rest my pen here for today and always remember to stay jiggy.🥰
