Betting = Trenches(2)!
When I was in secondary school, I had a young male teacher who loved betting on football matches. This man would collect a full month's salary and immediately go to a betting shop to squander everything. It seemed as though he had been demonized with that behavior. Even up till date, I just cannot imagine that someone who spent nothing less than 25 days in a week working for at least 8 hours a day would collect his salary and go squander it on betting. Isn't that witchcraft? And it wasn't really like he was gaining much money from it. He wasn't. To be candid, it was killing him. He wouldn't eat good food most times because he spent about ninety percent of his income betting.
That led to a disorder, a mental disorder that took his parents some time and huge amounts of money to correct. The disorder is called Compulsive Gambling. It's a disorder that causes people to keep using huge and risky amounts of money to bet despite the toll it’s taking on their personal and financial lives.
This leads me to the point that football betting affects the mental psychology of humans. What it does is that it leaves its victims with a sense of hitting a jackpot that they usually think would recompense for all the time, energy and money they have invested in it. That's why they go the extreme to make sure that they keep playing, hoping for that jackpot day which never comes in most cases.
My teacher's case didn't end there. Before his parents discovered that it was a mental disorder, they had been hurt, really hurt. The man would use all his money to bet and then go ahead to steal more money from his parents purse in the house. He was unmarried so he still lived with his parents. They didn't get to know on time because he wasn't the type that does that. It continued until he started stealing money of five figures in the house. It was not until then they discovered and they immediately sensed that there was fire on the mountain top.
Football betting is dangerous. It never leaves good effects on most people even after they hit the so much anticipated jackpot. It leaves them coming back for more and they never stop until it leads to errors beyond correction. Or isn't it normal that someone who wins a million in betting for example would come back to bet hoping to win two or three million the next time? That's the mentality and that's where the ruins come from because that person who won a million would surely waste that million hoping to hit the next biggest jackpot.
What’s more? BETTING CAN NEVER MAKE ANYONE RICH! There's no rich man I know who has a story of being a millionaire by betting. This is because Betters are only running a rat race. They win something today and for the next five to six months or more, they are on the losing edge. It never takes anyone anywhere.
It is my hope that anyone reading this would make better decisions on gambling, especially football betting. If you're reading this, we both know that someone else needs to read this asides you so do well to share. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section please.
Thank you and we’ll meet tomorrow again.🤗😍
